Here is a study conducted in 1978 on the effects of subliminal messaging upon weight loss:

Two experiments were conducted using two groups of 26 and 30 women. The women were over 15% overweight. They were divided into 2 groups, being the ‘subliminal group’ and a ‘control group’. Both groups were given some information on weight loss and healthy eating.

Then at the beginning of every session everyone was told to imagine a situation in which they would be tempted to eat.

It was at this point that both of the groups were exposed to a subliminal message for 4 milliseconds At this point they were exposed to a subliminal message for 4 milliseconds. Either a weight loss based subliminal message for the subliminal group / a neutral subliminal was played for the control group.

Results showed that the ‘subliminal group’ lost more weight than the control group, even after the end of the follow up period when the researchers caught up with the 2 groups to assess continued weight loss.

Here is another study conducted by Dr. Becker et al on subliminal messaging and weight loss. Dr. Becker had a weight loss clinic, and played to them 2 tapes containing subliminal messages.

His results were astounding:

  • One woman even lost 100 pounds within one year.
  • In follow up interviews Dr. Becker found 50% of the patients maintained over half their weight loss for up to two years following the subliminal program.
  • Even better- 23% maintained between 75% and 100% of their total weight loss.
  • Furthermore these figures were significantly better than diet programs in which he did not use subliminal messaging.

There is a lot more research into subliminal audio and visual stimuli, some conducted scientifically, some written up from case studies, and some conducted from a social science angle. But to elaborate a little more :)… With our albums headphones are not required. Generally headphones are required with pure hypnosis cds – as in a real life session the hypnotist may make suggestions into different ears – so hence on a cd the sound should be heard specifically in one ear more than the other when using a CD -and this different ear tactic helps “confuse” the mind and send you into a trance like state.

However, with subliminal messaging generally this is not required, and certainly with our albums you can listen on just your cd player / computer without the use of headphones – the trance like state is not needed – you will get thebenefit more gradually but generally while listening you won’t feel any big change going on internally.

We’re sorry, it seems every time we post a subliminal advert it is always about sex…. but that is just the way it is 🙁

new-year-fireworksIt is the 8th of January, I hope you have managed to keep your resolutions so far, but apparantly 95% of all resolutions are broken within 2 weeks of setting them, so here are 7 handy tips to help you stick to yours!

1. Write them down

If you haven’t already actually written them down then do so now – writing them down helps to make them real

2. Put them where you can see them

Following on, now pin your written list where you will see it regularly – on top of your computer monitor, on your fridge, on your bedside table etc – this helps to drill in your resolution and make sure your good intentions are on your mind regularly.

3. List the Benefits of sticking to them

Listing the positives you will gain from sticking to your resolutions will help you to stay motivated and focused.

4. Tell people

Telling people makes them more real, and it makes you accountable – you have a challenge to live up to.

5. Reward yourself

If your resolution is to lose weight then obviously don’t go and eat a full box of chocolates 🙂 But make sure you reward yourself at key milestones – whether it be 3 days, a week, two weeks, a month etc – reward yourself in a way which doesn’t contradict your resolution. We are more motivated by rewards and encouragement than by criticism or fear, so have a positive reward you can look forward to.

6. Break your goal down

If it is a big goal it might be easier to break it down into more managable chunks – this makes it seem more achievable. For example losing 3 stones of weight may take a long time, but if you set smaller weekly goals then you will accomplish them easier, and feel good and move on to the next goal, and eventually all your weekly goals will add up – before you know it you will of lost all the weight.

7. Visualize!

FInally, this will really help you – don’t just make your goal, but really spend some time visualizing the new you – whether you are breathing clean air and feeling healthy from not smoking, or you have a slimmer waistline, whatever your goal create a clear picture of yourself living the final outcome – this will help to “trick” your mind into thinking it has already happened, and if you do this regularly it will seem much more possible.

Every so often we seem to get innundated with the same question over and over within a few days, and recently it has been this one:

How long will your albums take to work?

Unfortunately there is no solid answer to this question, it depends on a few things:

  • How often you listen to the album  – listening to the album once every few days will probably produce little benefit, at least for a considerable amount of time – you need to flood your subconscious mind with similar positive messages in order to rewire your behavior and make changes. To do this you should listen at least once a day for a couple of weeks
  • Each album is different – some albums can have very instant effects  (some people experience almost instant results across our range of albums), but the relaxation albums will generally work more instantly than an album addressing a deeper emotional problem for exampl.
  • All of our albums have different effects on different people – one person may suffer from the same issue as another but to a greater degree and therefore take longer to feel the benefit. Some people are however, just naturally more “open” and susceptible to subliminal messaging, and experience benefits faster
  • Our minds are all wired differently from years of social conditioning, so any album will have a different result in terms of quality and speed of results when used by different people – we are all different.

However, as a very general guide you should notice some results within 2-3 weeks, and this is certainly the average time that people start contacting us and tell us what has been happing to them.
